With 730 km² the Karwendel mountain range is Europe's largest natural reserve area. From the time when the crocuses blossom to summer with alpine roses and the colourful trees in autumn – in the heritage Karwendel valleys, each season offers a special experience.

Holiday pleasure starts already in the middle of the village of Pertisau. From here, romantic walkways lead into all valleys of the Karwendel natural preserve or along Lake Achensee. These paths are located a long distance from the villages and are equally enjoyed by winter hikers, since they provide access to the deep and yet flat, snowed-in valleys of the Karwendel mountains.
